The decision on the seat of arbitration is one of the most important choices parties can make due to its legal consequences. The seat, lex arbitri, determines the law governing the procedure of the arbitration, whether the award can be set aside, the supervisory court over the arbitration, and the validity of the arbitration agreement. The place of arbitration also determines where the award is made, in other words, the “nationality” of the award for purposes of the New York Convention.
The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Thailand Branch and the Thailand Arbitration Center are pleased to invite you to an exciting and interactive event “The Hottest Seat in International Arbitration Debate” featuring distinguished speakers who will each represent a popular seat international arbitration in a fiery debate on why their seat is the most desirable. Participants will be allowed to vote at the end and the in-person session will be followed by a cocktail networking, courtesy of Clyde & Co.
